I thought this passing summer in Brisbane had a late start, but was very hot and humid, and to cap things off, our over night temps rarely dipped below 21C, add to that high humity and it is not pleasant. No wonder air conditioner sales are through the roof.
We are now entering autumn and over the next few days there is still no real let up on the heat. But that is common up here.
Although our average was above 30C for each day, we have to spare a thought for those in Victoria and parts of NSW. It will be interseting to see a total summary of temps and how many degrees hotter they have averaged this season.
Below is part of an extract from an ABC story discussing parts of NSW's summer.
Parts of the region sweltered through a mid-summer heatwave.
The average maximum temperature was up two degrees.
The hottest day of summer was recorded in Ivanhoe, where the mercury hit 47 degrees.
Below is a link to official records but I only found 45.8 C as the highest record, Still too hot.

Col - it has seemed like a long summer to me. Not many "hot" days as such but lots of very humid and warm, or 30ish days with lights winds - and warm nights. And much less rain than last year which makes a big difference to how it has seemed.
