Don't see the figures for rainfall since 9am or wind speeds? Seems not to be a weather station at all. If it was you would get current wind/rainfall and barometric pressure information. Would love to see a weather station that measures the above fit in a pocket.

Those things are never accurate anyway. The BoM uses the old style thermometers and wet/dry bulbs because they're more reliable and give more realistic readings. As Richary said, if it fits in a pocket, it's not a weather station per se. Where are the temperature sensors??

Well,

You pay for what you want. The more you pay the higher the quality. I guess I would be a little more positive in suggesting it is a handy portable weather instrument/station. It just does not measure as many variables as some of the higher quality ones but for a starter I am pretty sure it is ok.

My suggestion is to test its limitations and accuracy with the very expensively acquired Bureau instrumentation in your local region over a period of at least a few weeks and over different times of the year. Just a little hobby to keep you occupied.

Good on you for getting something to check out weather stats. All I have is a rain gauge:)

Regards,

Well I know for one thing, my home digital thermometer always varies by a few degrees by the airport readings. Perhaps it's because I'm 10km from the station, or maybe it's because I placed my sensor outside my window which faces south and is partly subject to the morning and arvo sun in summer? Who knows.
