Rain plan draws interestMore than 50 Victorian wheat growers have signed up to a trial by a company that claims it has technology to redirect rain from over the ocean to inland Australia. The principal of the Aquiess company, David Miles, addressed a gathering of farmers in the Wimmera, in the state's west, on Friday night. He says while some people were sceptical, most wanted to learn more.Mr Miles says he is confident the technology can deliver gentle, soaking rains this season.Mr Miles says he's confident the company can deliver gentle soaking Autumn rains to farmers who've signed up."What we are endeavouring to do is even in a time of drought such as last year where a lot of farmers where under extreme pressure, we endeavour to bring in oceanic rain that was drawn from outside the sovereign territory of Australia and to draw the pathway across the designated target area," he said. "We'll be working very hard to make sure each property receives the rainfall and obviously [it is] quite a large task because the people present ranged from Nhill, Mildura, right across the western border and also far as down as Bendigo and almost down past Ballarat."
