On September 16th, a line of strong thunderstorms produced four confirmed tornadoes in Athens, Perry and Meigs counties in Ohio. Three unconfirmed reports of tornadoes were reported in West Virginia. A fatality resulted from these strong thunderstorms in Belleville, West Virginia. Several injuries were reported from these storms and trees and power lines were down from Southeast Ohio to Central West Virginia.
