TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION BULLETIN
For 10:40 am EST on Sunday 23 January 2011
At 10 am EST Sunday, Tropical Cyclone Anthony (Category 1) with central
pressure 990 hPa was located
over the northwest Coral sea near latitude 15.5 south longitude 148.9 east,
which is about 370 km east northeast of Cairns and 145 km northwest of Willis
Is.

The cyclone is moving east at about 24 kilometres per hour.

TC Anthony will continue to move east away from the coast while slowly
intensifying during the next 24 to 48 hours. It poses no immediate threat to
the Queensland coast.

The next Information Bulletin will be issued by 5 pm EST today

Better keep eye off Qld coast next 7 days because the conditions is incredibly unstable out there and expected up to 3 cyclones in one week!

Now looks like Andrew is making a beeline pretty much dead on course for Townsville to hit tomorrow night on the latest forecast map. Luckily it looks like being a weak Cat 2 now as earlier forecasts had it as Cat 3.

Yep,and Fiji Met. The Cyclone WARNING has been extended to coastal and island communities from
Cardwell to Proserpine.

The Cyclone WATCH for coastal and island communities between Innisfail and
Lucinda and Proserpine to St Lawrence has been CANCELLED.

At 7:00 am EST Tropical Cyclone Anthony, Category 1 was estimated to be
530 kilometres east northeast of Townsville and 445 kilometres northeast of
Bowen.

Tropical Cyclone Anthony is currently moving southwest and is expected to
continue moving in this direction. It may intensify as it approaches the
Queensland coast.

DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS are expected to develop about coastal and island
communities close to the cyclone centre as it approaches the coast late tonight.

DAMAGING WIND GUSTS are expected to develop about coastal and island communities
between Cardwell and Proserpine late today.

As the cyclone crosses/approaches the coast abnormally high tides are expected
between Townsville and Bowen. Large waves are likely along the beachfront.

HEAVY RAINFALL with LOCAL FLOODING is expected to develop about the coast and
adjacent inland near and to the south of the cyclone, extending as far south as
Sarina, as it approaches and crosses the coast overnight Sunday.

People between Lucinda and Proserpine should immediately commence or continue
preparations, especially securing boats and property.

approaches the Queensland coast.

communities close to the cyclone centre as it approaches the coast late tonight.

DAMAGING WIND GUSTS are expected to develop about island communities this
afternoon, developing over coastal parts between Cardwell and Sarina late today
and overnight.

As the cyclone crosses/approaches the coast abnormally high tides are expected
between Townsville and Bowen. Large waves are likely along the beachfront
between Townsville and Sarina.

At 1:00 pm EST Tropical Cyclone Anthony, Category 2 was estimated to be
360 kilometres east of Townsville and 245 kilometres east northeast of Bowen.

Tropical Cyclone Anthony is currently moving southwest and is expected to
continue moving in this direction. It is slowly intensifying as it approaches
the Queensland coast.

DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS are expected to develop about coastal and island
communities close to the cyclone centre as it approaches the coast late tonight.

DAMAGING WIND GUSTS are expected to develop about island communities this
afternoon and over coastal parts between Cardwell and Sarina this evening and
continuing overnight.

As the cyclone approaches and crosses the coast abnormally high tides are
expected between Townsville and Bowen. Large waves are likely along the
beachfront between Townsville and Sarina.

The Cyclone WARNING from Cardwell to Lucinda has been cancelled.

At 4:00 pm EST Tropical Cyclone Anthony, Category 2 was estimated to be
280 kilometres east of Townsville and 160 kilometres northeast of Bowen.

Tropical Cyclone Anthony is currently moving southwest towards the southern
Herbert and Lower Burdekin coast. The system is forecast to cross the coast
between Ayr and Bowen late tonight.

DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS are expected to develop about coastal and island
communities close to the cyclone centre as it approaches the coast late tonight.

DAMAGING WIND GUSTS have occurred about island communities this afternoon, and
are forecast to develop over coastal parts between Lucinda and Sarina.

ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES are expected between Ayr and Bowen. LARGE WAVES are likely
along the beachfront between Townsville and Sarina.

HEAVY RAINFALL with FLOODING is developing about the coast and adjacent inland
near and to the south of the cyclone, extending as far south as Sarina.

- People in the path of the cyclone should stay calm and remain in a secure
shelter when destructive winds occur.
- Do not venture outside if you find yourself in the eye of the cyclone -
destructive winds from a different direction could resume at any time.
- Heed the advice and follow the instructions of Police, Emergency Services
personnel and local authorities.

TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST
SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
For people in parts of the Central Coast and Whitsundays, northern Central
Highlands and Coalfields and Central West districts.
Issued at 11:05 am on Monday 31 January 2011
Synoptic Situation: At 10am EST, Ex-Tropical Cyclone Anthony had weakened to a
tropical low and was located over the far northeastern parts of the Central
District, and was heading steadily to the southwest.
Heavy rainfall has occurred over the Central Coast and northern Central
Highlands and Coalfields districts during the night, though it has eased
substantially over the past few hours.  Gusty winds with moderate falls are
expected over parts of the state's interior during today and tonight, however
the conditions are no longer expected to be severe, and so the warning is
CANCELLED.
The State Emergency Service advises that people in the affected area should:
· beware of fallen trees and powerlines
· avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters
· take care on the roads, especially in heavy downpours
· avoid swimming in swollen rivers and creeks
Contact the SES on 132 500 for emergency assistance if required.
No further warnings are expected to be issued for this event
