Hi guys,

It is our pleasure to welcome you to Extreme Storms   www.extremestorms.com.au

This website is not a replacement but an extension of the forum like structure here merged into a blog and eventually chat format. The forum discussion will be phased out soon and we encourage you to make the transition over there. The forum will be locked eventually but will remain as an archive.

We would like to thank all who have supported the forum and hope the new format will allow for greater flexibility. Please become a member and continue posting. Ther is information on how to use the website:

I hope you enjoy and please provide us with ideas and feedback.

Regards,

Jimmy Deguara

Hi Jimmy

Nowhere using Firefox 6.0.2 can I see any where to login or register, even though I have clicked the various links to do so in the How To Use page.

Cheers

Richard

Try now. I had to make a few changes which took out the login process and I forgot to return it.

The change over will be made over the next several days so please migrate across. Also note that the discussion is no longer section based but daily events - the calendar has the events on it.

Hi Jimmy,

I tried to register but there is only provision for logins, the registration advices "User registration is currently not allowed."

I was unable to register.

Looking forward to the new website

Cheers

Colin.

Hi Colin,

You are correct. I had not created a registration page. It is there now. Thanks for the feedback.

Jimmy

Thank you. It seems to be working well with me and I have my new password. Website looks interesting and I will certainly be having a good look at it and hopefully continue my storm chase reports.

I assume we can still upload photos and maps on our reports. It seems that this is specific for the storm chase reports only. Otherwise this looks great with new features.

Thank you.

Hi Jimmy,

I tried to post and couple of pictures from photobucket with out success, I then tried to find the URL needed and went to re-post but pressed the wrong thing, (submit instead of the add image by clicking here).

So 2 question I have are,

1. Can you edit your blog, I could not find any where to do so?

2. On photobucket what is the URL that is used ? or what is the best way to upload the images?

Thanks in advance and I apologise for the slight mess and if you are able to fix it up it would be great, its a new learning curve for me.

Thanks again

Colin

I've managed to log in now and had a bit of a look around the features. I do have a bit of a query about this though...

Quote
You probably soon realise the importance of posting images and videos. New posts MUST have at least one valid image or animation preferably up to 5 images with links from medium thumbnails.

For example I could be on the road without the laptop but witness a good storm worth reporting that may not have been the subject of an EWN report. And while I might be taking photos do not have the ability to upload them then and there. So while I could log on using the iPhone I can't include an image, so can't start a topic on that event. Even if I do have the laptop and 3G card if I am taking photos won't be stopping to extract the data card from the camera and transfer the pics to the laptop.

In theory I could probably embed the radar image (assuming I am somewhere with coverage), in which case would it be possible to include the how-to on the page somewhere, or even better have an include radar button that allows you to select the radar and the duration you want to include.

Thanks

Richard

Hi Jimmy or Michael,

I seem to be having real issues trying to post images on the new website. It is no doubt something I am doing wrong, if you have any instructions or advice I would gladly appreciate it. I am downloading from photobucket.

Thanks

Colin

We can get rid of this rule and replace it with a rule on ensuring we properly name the title.
