Eastern NSW - Storms - 19th February 2007
« on: 20 February 2007, 12:59:02 PM »
Hi,

I went for a little drive towards Windsor knowing there was a brief opportunity for severe weather. I am assuming the cell near Wisemans Ferry got warned briefly? When I got back, only a general severe warning was in place across the greater Sydney region, Illawarra etc.

Regards,

I briefly chased after work to Picton. It looked good for a while, as I got glimpses through the trees heading westwards on the Picton Road.

The storm soon became a baseless sad affair after I arrived at the freeway turnoff at Douglas Park.

Hi Michael,

Same story at my end. I guess it was a bonus the storms went severe in the first place - they were never going to last long. Here are a couple of my pictures:

Storm heading to Wisemans Ferry / St Albans area

The tops of the storm did not exhibit the power of a severe storm. I thought the storm was going to backbuild for a little while. Can anyone confirm whether this cell went severe briefly?

greetings gang,

Michael, I was only a few km's or so nth of you.   Traveling down to Campbelltown I could see the activity
and hoped the work wouldnt take too long to complete. Once completed, I headed out towards Camden and
down the bypass rd. Stopping before the rd heads up into the hills between Camden and Picton.

got some nice lightning shots, but could tell the storm was dying off as it moved nthwards.
Still a nice end to a long work day  :)

1635Hrs EDT,  on narellan rd looking SW just prior to arriving in Campbelltown

cheers
