Just a reminder that there's an eclipse of the moon Tuesday 28th. NT time is 7:22pm to 8:30pm. So adjust your time for eastern states. The moon will be eclipsed by Earth for an hour and will be a fabulous colour orange to red. Get the big lens' out for this one as it has not happened for a while! Apparently the NSW and QLD seaboards will have the best view - wish you luck and hope to see some photos on the forum.

Cool, have a camera and best view of my house is to the east, might head to the beach for a better view if required.

Cool. Just check with local papers or astronomy places for times - i guess when it's dark and you see the moon go for it, but will pay to check for times in relevant states. An hour eclipse is pretty long and that will give everyone time to get to a good location or set the camera/telescope up.

Thankyou Michael, with my limited experience and not a good camera I can't take photos properly although it looks good just with the naked eye, its beautiful. If anyone has missed out there is still time as it goes into brightening and dimming phases, the red is dim but from my viewpoint not that reddish. Got a good view here on my east facing balcony. At precisely 7:52pm is the starting time.

Strewth here's my shocking photos of the eclipse - looks more like an orange floating in tar. working in the dark and fiddling with a camera with no infinity marker is just deserts. Here they are anyway people.

Some fabulous photos by all! We'll have to wait another four years for the next one. I think the whole country was out to view this event and it kept our minds of storms for a short while!
