In this thread i'd like to see some of other members' storm chase photos with a definite 'human' element to it as opposed to full blown cloud or lightning shots on their own. Your favorite photo that has someone in it that you do or do not know that tells a story that you can relay that you snapped during a chase either here or abroad.
I've included mine simply because you could just about add your own 'bubble' and add the comment!
Shots of Nick Moir when he was up here in Darwin chasing. The first one is him taking shots of a scrub fire started by lightning during the chase and I could not help laughing as he litterally through himself in the 'oven' to get some shots. It's hard to see where the fire is whipping up as you peer into the viewfinder, i'm sure those curly locks got fried! Talk about an obsession with fire mate.....!
The second photo is Nick cowering under the
massive impact of 1.5 cm hail
- he kept yelling to me 'where?, where?' as I shouted for him to pick the things up for a photo! He reminded me of a predator seeking its prey as he scoured and eyeballed the tundra for the prize whilst avoiding the frozen peas falling on him! His body posture shows it all and yes, that's hail flashing by the lens when i took it!
