Melbourne Hail Storm 1982
« on: 05 January 2008, 03:38:48 AM »
Does anyone on the forum list remember two significant weather events in Melbourne/Victoria of the 1980's: 1. The hailstorm and possible tornado that hit Croydon, VIC in November 1982, and the 1980 Violet Town (near Benalla), VIC Tornado. If so, please can you relay some of the info my way.

Thanks

Pete,

I have asked someone from Victoria to see what they can find out about either or both of these events.

Thanks Jimmy, be much appreciated! I think from memory the Violet Town tornado was the strongest recorded in Vic., and I have personal memories (unfortunately no photos) of the hailstorm.
