Weekend Tornadoes in North Dakota, Heat Wave in Central US and July TVN Newsletter!This weekend, North Dakota got its fair share of tornadoes, with 10 reports recorded on both Saturday and Sunday. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, but some damage did occur to homes and farmsteads. TVN streamer, Jacob Thumberger captured this amazing video below, of one near Berlin, North Dakota on Sunday--it was rated an EF-3 on the Enhanced Fujita (EF) scale.
Berlin, North Dakota tornado: July 17, 2011A dangerous heat wave is still underway for much of the Central US, thanks to a stingy upper-level ridge in place. Heat indices of 100 F+ are affecting more than 20 million people and not much in the way of relief will arrive till this weekend! By this weekend, the ridge should shift east and would then impact the Eastern tier of the United States. As it shifts east, another disturbance slides in behind it and severe weather will again be possible across the Northern Plains and into Canada. TVN is ready to deploy once again, after recording more radar data on July 8th from several tornadic supercells in Western North Dakota! Check out the video below!
