Gosh there's some garbage on the net

  soooooooooooo  if thunder storms are producing gamma rays as a result of lightning discharges ( and I have no
reason to doubt that) then it doesnt really matter if you are in a plane or on the ground  you are still gonna get
zapped by the gamma rays   huh ?   Doh !
   then ALL us storm chasers are going to get so so much more exposure to gamma rays than the general
population or by those who happen to fly somewhere near a storm !

 are we all gonna stop storm chasing  .... I doubt it ....  we are more likely to be injured / killed by some many
other causes, directly or indirectly associated with stormchasing ...  hit by huge hail, lightning strike, car accident
etc, etc

  as one responder said   just more scare mongering to get research funding!!!!
