Quite a few outbreaks have hit the northern US states so obviously central and eastern Canada will be affected by the same systems at times. Moisture advection can occur unimpeded, which is the beauty of the continent, and be further consolidated by evapotranspiration along the way - I remember following your chase this year and noting some -8 to -10 Lis over.... whatever the province is north of North Dakota.
