Given the extensive rainfall so far this February, perhaps we could provide some statistics in this thread of how much rainfall you have received thus far.

Schofields has had a relatively wet start than any month since the previous major La Nina during the 1990's:

In the rain gauge at home as of 8th of Feb (apart from the temp being very cold over the last 2-3 days) - 12mm for the day.

There was some minor flooding around the area on Monday 4th with some places getting around 200mm in 24 hours.

I haven't kept stats here, but reported on 9 news last night was that most areas in Sydney have already doubled their average monthly rainfall, with Canterbury almost tripling theirs with about 240mm in February.

I think since I moved over at the beginning of November I have seen more rain that Adelaide gets in a year though!

Ob Hill atm stands at 199mm & Rose Bay on 211mm - all of which fell during the 1st 2 weeks, both the wettest Februaries since 2002. More rain/showers for us due this week especially from tomorrow onwards.

February 2008 Rainfall

I have looked at my statistics for my local area and found that it rained on 15 of the 29 days meaning that it rained on 51.7% of the days during the month.

I had around 232 mm of rain during February (Wettest February since 2002) accumulated across those 15 wet days.

The nearest official weather station at Seven Hills had 234 mm.

Some amazing rainfall figures for Sydney (From the BOM Network) are worth stating because some of these are incredible.

The top 10 highest localities are:-

Liverpool 330 mm
Badgeries Creek 326 mm
Lucas Heights 311 mm
Canterbury 297 mm
Oatley 294 mm
Belrose 284 mm
Bexley 270 mm
Avalon 267 mm
Turramurra 259 mm
Bankstown 256 mm

It is noted that the higher figures occurred in Sydney's south west and not the coast but the general figher figures were widespread across the metropolitan area. All figures are significantly well above average.

The bottom 10 lowest figures are:-

Marsfield 120 mm
Long Reef 151 mm
Glenorie 159 mm
Berowra 176 mm
Sydney Airport 202 mm
Penrith 208 mm
Castle Hill 219 mm
Sydney Olympic Park 223 mm
St Ives 224 mm
Sydney City 225 mm

The lowest figures are scattered throughout the metropolitan as well.

Amazingly there is one statistic that stands out being Marsfield. This was the only suburb in Sydney to record below average rainfall for the month. Its February average is 137 mm and given that it received 120 mm, the suburb only received 87.59% of its average monthly February rainfall. This is unique given that every other locality in Sydney had above to well above average February rainfalls.

Ob Hill actually recorded 258mm, not 225mm - can I ask where you got this figure from?, otherwise a good summary there  :D, it's great to see inland suburbs especially those near dam catchment areas do well for a change. For Ob Hill, it's the wettest Feb since 2002 (348mm).

Rose Bay recorded 289mm (Average - 120mm) - wettest Feb. since 2002 (396mm). Rain fell on 19 days (Average - 10). Highest daily fall was 74.6mm to 9am on the 5th.

In this part of Melbourne, VIC.( in my rain gauge in Mooroolbark East) Feb rainfall was just 22mm - well below the average 57mm for this time of the year - most of it came in rain showers mid month. Seems as if we down here are being overlooked by the rain God (I think some call him Huey).
