Weather Forecast Blunders
« on: 22 September 2008, 10:41:04 AM »
According to the Bureau, Brisbane's due for a stinker next week.

Saturday      Fine.                                  Min 15    Max 27
Sunday        Fine.                                  Min 19    Max 34

I'm not too certain whether this is a typo, or whether in fact they're being serious.

I wouldn't be surprised. After a cool week woke up late Saturday last weekend to 29 at 11am and it went on to officially equal out highest temp of the year here in Sydney. Then this weekend it went to 24 on Friday, 32 on Saturday and 21 today (Observatory Hill figures). It was 29 in the Hunter Valley today according to a sign I drove past. Forecast for 30 tomorrow before the change comes through so it is all over the place.

It seems to be warming up for a lot of centres now. I would hazard a guess that the Brizzy forecast is close enough to be on the money, as well as Melbourne is also getting much warmer days (still freezing and frosting overnight though)

You guys could be right, the September record for Brisbane was set in 1943 with 37C - HOT!

BUT... I've checked the forecast on my weather widget, it says its going to be 25C on Sunday Sept 28 for my location, so yeah.. pardon if I seem a bit skeptical ha ha.
