As anticipated, storms developed across central and north western regions of NEw South Wales and progressed towards the eastern portion. A severe thunderstorm warning briefly occurred on the Mid North Coast during the mid afternoon period.

During the late evening, another severe thunderstorm warning was issued for parts of the Southern Tablelands and Illawarra region.

One cell in particular was intense near Yass moving southeast and then weakening.

I noticed that little cell near yass, it was interesting for a few frames on the radar. Have you noticed how dry the air is behind this trough? I guess it's a sign of how bad this season is when the dry slot feeding into this low can be as dry as it is. Dewpoints around many areas are dropping to as low as -10 but impressive is Cooma which is no doubt aided by sinking air due to the ranges to it's west, but the dewpoint there is nearly -30! The dewpoint there has dropped 42 degrees in only 12 hours since 9am today!
