greetings all,
and what a storm it was !!! Jimmy. I sat ~ 100m west of the freeway on the road that goes out to Colovale
and Hilltop. The major CG's started crasing all around within a km or 2. With many there was only a second if that
between the flash and the boom, which had that piercing hi freq. crack to them.
there was some light pea sized hail at my loc, I suspect I was on the nthrn edge of that and it could
have been harder jst a few km's down the road in Mittagong
here's a video still of one of the strikes WOW.
after some 30 mins, I left there and headed nth up the freeway to get out of the rain to make photo's
easier to take. then again up to the Picton turnoff (the skydiving loc)
Had to get back home and pick up Cindy and head off to church by 6pm in Baulkham Hills (Norwest Blv)
.... could see another cell coming off the mountains. 3/4 way through the service could hear rumblings from
outside getting louder rushed outside at end of service (~ 1930hrs) and was greeted with torrential rain
and contineous lightning and thunder, from directly overhead.
This storm was moving quickly to the NE and it wasnt long (~30 mins) before it had left the area.
What an
outstanding day!!! and week
Cheers
