Australian tornado statistics
« on: 03 August 2007, 05:02:29 PM »
Hi,

Although I would not quote this specifically being a second hand source from the media, but I wonder given if it was true whether this is true.

Quote
"Australia statistically has the second most tornados of anywhere in the world, with the US being the most, but given the sparse nature of our population, typically it doesn't really cause damage to urban areas." said Mr Bolden.

Statistically, Canada and Great Britain suggest they have more tornadoes and look for a second placing. How about Bangladesh and perhaps Brazil and countries in South America namely Argentina? I wonder on what basis can we suggest we are statistically higher? Are there any world wide tornado statistics published anywhere that someone can post here?

What are your thoughts?

Regards,

Jimmy Deguara
