So once again, while all is quiet with the NSW side of the board I thought id put up some pics of our moisture starved air mass thunderies that formed up today. That is as soon as I can work out how to do the inline clip images.

Unfortunately it's disheartening to see such lovely structures dissipate indeed!  From the push those updraughts had they at least got some kick from the localised environment which supported their initiation and definitely photogenic for the author on queue.

Hi all, as John said we've had a little action down here the last two days.  Friday arvo (Nov 9th) I sat atop Mt Cooper in Melbourne's NE and watched Severe warned storms move E from the western suburbs.  It's the highest point in metro Melbourne. There was plenty of electrical interference on AM radio but very little visible lightning. Storms moved through the northern rain catchments which is good although I was left bathing in sunshine    I went home at 5pm and at 8pm I could see from my balcony that a small cell had formed over the eastern ranges.  It put down 1/2 dozen visible CG's as it moved away leaving clear sky in it's wake and I scored a nice shot of a triple forked CG.  Today (Nov 10th) saw some strong development early in the arvo with towers constantly punching up with pileus caps!  Several impressive anvils formed and again severe warnings issued - I must say the BOM seem intent on issuing Svr warnings when they dont appear warranted.  I decided not to chase into the ranges - perhaps thats something to do with memories of the Great Plains! )
