Heatwave one of the most extreme on record - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
The Bureau of Meteorology says the heatwave in northern Victoria over the past five days is one of the most extreme on record.

I had not known there was a specific definition for a heat wave - 5 consecutive days of at least 35C. Northern Victoria has really suffered once again with a few days of near mid-40's.
