Freezing fog photos from northern Illinois

Andrew Pritchard of http://prairiestormmedia.com/ got out yesterday and wrangled some great photos of the ridiculous accumulations of freezing fog in northern Illinois. He reports that dense fog has been in place there for the last three days, with temperatures hovering in the upper 20s, so the fog has really been "stacking up." Freezing fog occurs under rather unique conditions, when water droplets are suspended in the air (fog) while surface temperatures are at or below 0ยบ Celsius. - Notice how these photos differ from what one would typically see from an ice storm. Thanks to Andrew for documenting this so well!

We're keeping our eyes on some severe weather potential for southern portion of the U.S. later this week as well -- stay tuned for updates
