Dominator intercepts wedge in Minnesota!
Here is the video from the intercept today in Minnesota.. We first deployed in the circulation as the tornado was developing, with suction vortices dancing around the vehicle and large trees getting snapped in half! The radar was measuring insane vertical winds at this time, and we deployed four parachute probes with the cannons, two of which were carried high in the circulation... We then drove east and north, paralleling the half-mile wide wedge as it moved into Otter Tail County, MN toward Wadena, and intercepted the east side of the tornado as it started to cross the road. We dropped to the Dominator to the ground as winds veered to the southeast, shot a few more parachute probes, and slid across the ground with the 150+ mph tail wind as the roof anemometer was ripped off. Stay tuned for some insane data from inside these tornadoes!
