HI,

I'm Cévrick,32, i'm new on this forum, i'm storm chaser since 10 years.

I used to storm chasing a lot in France, but now, i'm based in New Caledonia.

I would like to know which is the best time and the best area to storm chasing in Australia.

I'm planning to come between the 15th of November to the 15th of December and to make a road trip around Darwin.

Do you thing is it a good solution? and also i would like to avoid flooding!!

Which is the best way to know when i will be there to predict storms like software? lightning maps? radar?

And the most important do you know if the Network is good in the North?

Hi Cévrick,

With those dates you will see plenty of storms around the greater Darwin region. There are very few roads outside of Darwin so you are limited to a couple of main roads in rural areas.    Mike from Darwin will probably add some more detail.   Flooding is unlikely that time of year.

Click on the Northern Territory. When viewing the state, you can click the map to get a skew-t diagram based on GFS forecast.

What sort of storms do you want to see?   If you are after severe storms and large hail then you would want to consider chasing in NSW rather than Darwin.
