Evening Lightning Chase: Monday 3rd July 2006
by Michael Bath
A mild day with patches of altocumulus and cumulus from the southwest. Storms offshore and to the southeast most of the day moved up the coast early evening.
Storm chase to Broadwater then Flat Rock Beach north of Ballina with Rodney Wallbridge. A couple of congestus towers clipped the coast with a shower about.
Quite a spectacular display of coastal lightning for a couple of hours in freezing conditions.
