If thunderstorms develop in your area, be aware that they could cause damaging winds, large hail and localised very heavy rain. Some damage to property may occur and you are advised to takeprecautions, such as to secure loose outside objects, move vehicles under cover and drive with extra caution. I just noticed this when surfing. Not many people live in that area so I guess probably nothing will be reported if severity occurs with the storms. PRIORITY - FOR BROADCAST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ADVICE Bureau of Meteorology Adelaide Issued at 8.05 pm on Monday , 21/09/98 For people in the West Coast district east of Nullarbor and the Northwest Pastoral district west of a line from Coober Pedy to Tarcoola. A band of thunderstorms has developed in western South Australia and is moving steadily eastwards. Hail 2 cm in diameter occurred at Cook about 4:30 pm. These thunderstorms may produce damaging winds, large hail and localised very heavy rain in the above districts this evening. Some damage to property may occur and you are advised to take sensible precautions, such as to secure loose outside objects, move vehicles under cover and drive with extra caution.
