There is a fair amount of cirrus about today, and one of the bands of cirrus was in the right position to produce a lovely rainbow of colours. Instead of being white, it was bright red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. I saw it about 1pm est, and it lasted for quite a while after that, but was at it's brightest at that time It probably occurs pretty often, but i've never seen it before.
