It's around 1400 metres alt. so if we get snow here that is pretty good, it must be good there. I've camped there in October (under young man cannobolas - slighly lower) and it was gorgeous, best sunrise I've ever seen. I've seen pics of Mt Cannob. totally covered in snow, like a European scene. Ask our man in Orange, Terry Bishop, he'd know more than me. I'm not sure how long it lasts, but all you can access is the 512km broad radar for Brisbane, but it's certainly better then nothing. If you want to subscribe to it permanently, it's $200 a year...I haven't seen much of it, but so far it's actually quite tempting. Unfortunately, we had 'half a bust' - meaning, we saw thunderstorms, but only from a distance. Actually, at just after 2pm we were at a lookout at the Gold Coast, and things were looking *very* good...with 5 'avilling' cells to our S and SW. However, as we got closer, they died off, one by one...which was very frustrating. Even more frustrating was the Congestus/TCU line that sat over the border ranges...I've never seen such strong TCU (shooting to 20-25,000 at times) do nothing... You can't win them all though, Also, thanks to Hayden from Evans Point, who also gave us some information, and also offered us a place to stay for the night if we needed it...it's certainly very encouraging and pleasing to see people wanting to help out with storm chases.
