They're seldom available at present. (the 10 day set from Georg Muller)
Most of the time when I click onto them, the site isn't found by the
computer. Anyone else having similar difficulties, and does anyone know
why?.

Hey Ben..

What URL are you using? I had no trouble accessing them.. I got
yesterdays 0z forecast (10pm Sunday morning).. I use the URL's from
Laurier Williams site..

http://www.ozemail.com.au/~wbc/forecast_models_us.html

If you still have troubles you can find global MRF data here:

http://lumahai.soest.hawaii.edu/gifs/models/GLOBAL/

The global_sfc.gif and global_500.gif files are not updated anymore..
which is a shame because they are quite nice.. but the
g_MRF500sfc-xxx.gif files are still updated, using AVN for the first 72
hours..

Hope this helps..

That didn't look right.. what i meant was that it was 10pm on Sunday
morning and i have yesterdays 0z forecast :)

I think the George Mueller charts are updated daily during late
afternoon.. i have seen them updated as early as 4pm..

Hi everyone,

As you all know, there was the First ASWA Annual General Meeting last
night. Since the venue was set up differently than anticipated, it made
communication difficult and overall it not very comfortable. But in light
of the constraints of time and location, it was better than nothing.
Perhaps a lesson can be learnt for future meetings. Nevertheless, those who
attended bonded together very quickly as if they had known each other for
many years. There were albums with photos to be shown and stories to be shared.

After dinner, the meeting commenced with the normal introduction and
President's address given by Michael Bath. Michael Scollay gave the usually
excellent Treasurer's Report. Then the discussion led to the main part of
the evening, The Elections.

As part of the elections, several existing rules had to be changed to a
more appropriate set for ASWA as a national organisation. Although we will
wait for Anthony to get back to Brisbane and type up the notes, one
important change is in the structure of the committee. The rule now states
that the committee will be a national committee with others in other states
to become more involved in the committee. Another important change was to
allow voting and nominations by proxy. More details will come from
Anthony's notes later but this is both a huge step forward but also a
challenge for ASWA to adopt these changes. There won't be too many
organisations that have adopted such a structure.

Now the elections were carried out and the following positions were elected
unopposed:

I am now President, Michael Thompson Vice President, Michael Scollay
Treasurer, and Michael Bath Secretary, The committee six nominated and
therefore elected Matt Smith, Matthew Piper, Ross Portas, Keith Barnett,
and David Croan. Paul Graham was elected as a liaison officer (communicates
with Bureau and other organisations eg AMOS etc).

So if you are sitting on those vantage points, write em up, and get them into him either via the list with the subject field : Vantage Point Database., or send them to him personally at weatherhead at ozemail.com.au
This is how to format your vantage points.
Name: ( name of the lookout)
Location: (how to basically get there from a main road )
Views: i.e South West to South

I will be informing everyone of updates on the chase via the ASWA Online Newsletter, as well as the web site. If anyone is interested or would like more details about "Storm Chase '99", please visit the "Chase Details" section in the Members Area of the ASWA
Homepage.
All details are there.A quick run down though. So far approximatly 20 people have expressed interest which is great to see! The planned chase area is NE NSW / SE QLD , but if storms are elsewhere we will go after them.
A disclaimer is in the process of being written up by an assocciate of Jane O'Neills who is a solicitor. Everyone participating must sign a copy of this once it is complete or you will not be eligable to come along. These will be handed out at future ASWA meetings, and an online version to print out will be available
