Just found the website of Jeff Piotrowski, the legendary US storm chaser
who inspired the movie "Twister" and whose tornado videos have won
numerous awards for their almost-too-close action shots. Apparently he
is well known for his fearlessness in jumping right into the path of
storms and getting footage that would have others losing their lunch. He
was responsible for the recent ABC documentary on the May 3 1999
Oklahoma tornado outbreak, including perhaps the most up-close footage
of an F5 ever filmed. Everyone who saw it will know what I mean! The
documentary is available on video to buy from the website and a
blow-by-blow account of the day's chase is there as well. Recommended
viewing!
