From: "twc at theweather.com.au" To: aussie-weather at world.std.com Sender: aussie-weather-approval at world.std.com Reply-To: aussie-weather at world.std.com The early development of tropical lows near Darwin has pushed the SOI up in the last few days. The recent spike should drop back a little once this low moves away. The 30 day SOI is quite sensitive to short term weather systems. The early start to the wet season is responsible for the more general rise in the 90 day SOI over the past month. _____________________________________________________ Mark Hardy. It's now located over land 65kms SSE of Kalumburu and moving SW at 20km/h. On its present coarse it looks like it will move offshore again near Kuri Bay some time tomorrow and may form into a Tropical Cyclone north of Broome once it moves out into open water.
